Three, five or eight days
Details of route

ITINERARY WITH 8 DAYS / MODALITIES OF 3 OR 5 DAYS

A journey for three Pehuenche territories of Araucanía and the possibility of choosing only for the first three days in Kurarewe or five days traveling around Kurarewe and Melipeuco.  

Day 1

The visitors will have the chance of participating in a talk about the Mapuche culture with a local guide. Then, a peasant man will share his knowledge about the Mapuche mountain life.  At noon, it will be lunch and after the group will visit a ducks farm and soap workshop, elaborated with natural herbs and honey. Finally, we will move to a family house for dinner and rest. 

Day 2

The visitors and the local guide will arrive at Villarrica National Park. Here, it begins the trekking through amazing native araucarias forest and other species until discovering the Andeans lagoons.  During the trekking, the local guide will explain different topics about the relevance of “piñón” -araucaria seed- and the history of the zone. The visitors will have the possibility of establishing a dialogue with the guide. 

Day 3

This route begins with a visit to a native forest nursery. Here the visitors could learn about the reforestation work that is happening in the zone. After lunch, the group will visit a traditional vegetable garden and her hostess is a seeds protector. The journey will finish in the liquors workshop. 

Day 4

The visitors will travel to Melipeuco. The first stop will be at Malalco waterfall. At noon, a “ñaña” -an old woman- will offer a talk about the use of medicinal herbs in the Mapuche culture, in Reigolil territory. After lunch, we will continue with the journey until Melipeuco for arriving at the dinner and rest.

Day 5

The visitors with a local guide will arrive at Conguillío National Park for beginning the trekking until Sierra Nevada on an interpretive trail. The lunch will be inside of the national park and after that, the group will return for dinner and rest. 

Day 6

On this day the group will go from Melipeuco to Icalma where we will start the ascent -by car- to Batea Mahuida vulcano (depending on the weather).  After lunch, there is time for a historic talk about the place. 

Day 7

On the last day, we will go to Quinquen. Here, we will begin a trail through araucarias forest. After lunch, the group will move to Lonquimay to start the interpretative trail “Ruta Verde”. Finally, on the journey, we will go to the hostel for dinner and rest.

The next day, the guide will go with the group until Temuco, finishing the Pehuenche Route.

Reservations

To confirm the reservation, the client must transfer 50% of the total price of the program latest 5 days before the start of the tour and all the price must be paid 48 hours before the beginning of the journey.
