The volunteer program of Rutas Ancestrales Araucarias was designed for the learning and collaboration of volunteers that visit us and the hostess families. The growing enthusiasm for comprehension between different cultures has permitted this interaction space in a Mapuche and farmer context.
How work?
The volunteers apply to a defined service period with a hostess family assigned, during an agreed time.
What kind of jobs should be doing?
The intensity and frequency of the labor are subject to the seasons and the weather conditions, while other works are determined for the family needs, volunteer skills, and interests.
Which is the stay of the volunteer program?
The minimum stay is 7 days and the maximum is 15 days which includes 5 working days per week. However, the term could extend with a new agreement between both or the volunteer could be relocated with an other family.
What´s the schedule of the volunteer program?
The journey is of 5 hours, starting at 9:00 o´clock to 14:00 h. for 5 days per week. It could have modifications subject to the family schedule and for their own dynamics. The rest of the day is off for sharing with the family, walking around, or visiting some hotspots.
Which is the family compromise?
The families will give accommodation and three daily meals per volunteer during the service period agreement.
What is the requirement for the volunteers?
Be 18 years old and comply with the volunteer program policy.
Have any cost?
The volunteer program has a unique pay of $10.000.- (CLP) for transportation costs.
Sometimes the volunteers have decided to give some money or food to the families. These contributions, which are gratefully received by the hosters.
